Soup Sunday

Yesterday Christopher and I went to Soup Sunday and experienced some seriously tasty soup! 70 local vendors set up stations all around the forum and for just a $20 donation, we got to taste it all! Oh goodness, it was fun! Here are some shots of some of the soups we tried:

Yeah, we ate a LOT! Haha! We seriously tried at least one bite of almost every single soup! It was such a fun experience. We originally went because we wanted to support the charity since it’s one we care about, but it turned into a really fun date afternoon! πŸ™‚

Also, in other news – I got a very special package in the mail this weekend! Kelly, from RahRaw hosted a giveaway and I won! Yay! Wanna see what I got??

All kinds of Stevia products! Plus a recipe book FULL of healthy recipes. I’m so excited to try this out. Thanks, Kelly! πŸ™‚

So I had said that the next question I answer will be about fashion/clothing, but I think that question deserves it’s own post. So to finish off today’s post I’m going to answer a couple of short questions. Hopefully tomorrow we can delve into fashion and what it means to me. πŸ™‚

Carlee: What do you like to eat for breakfast?
Breakfast can be eggs (scrambled or over easy) with toast, PB Blast, Green Monster (my latest kick), cereal (favorites: Kashi Honey Sunshine, FiberPlus Cinnamon Oat Crunch, and Multigrain Cheerios), pancakes or even occasionally leftovers. πŸ™‚

Peanut Butter Blast

1 small banana
1/2 cup vanilla fat free yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
1 tbsp peanut butter
1/4 tsp vanilla
pinch cinnamon

Blend all ingredients except cinnamon. Top with pinch of cinnamon

Carlee: What kind of music do you listen to?
I listen to most all music. I used to dislike twangy country stuff, but even that has grown on me some (I blame it on living in TN now, haha!). I don’t listen to music with curse words, though. Stuff like that just gets stuck in my head and I don’t like it. Oh, and I don’t like β€œscream-o” music. You know, the stuff where it’s just like screaming the whole entire time. Not for me. I like to be able to understand the lyrics at least. Golly, now I sound old. Haha!

Blond Duck: Ever thought about doing a cookbook?
Absolutely. I really need to develop more of my own original recipes first, though. I’d say about half of my recipes are just adapted from other people’s recipes, a quarter of my recipes are family recipes and the other quarter of my recipes are the ones that Christopher and/or I have come up with. While I don’t mind sharing my “recipe book” with you guys on here since I always give credit wherever it’s due, I can’t imagine publishing a recipe that isn’t either a family recipe OR completely mine. So that will probably be several years down the road. πŸ™‚

So Carlee, Ellie, Alyssa and Lacey asked about kiddos. I’m actually going to email each of these ladies individually to answer their questions, but as far as this very public blog goes, I will say this much: right now, Christopher and I love enjoying this season of our marriage when it is just the two of us and Oreo.

Please never be afraid to ask questions. If it’s something I don’t want to address publicly on the blog, I will definitely at least email you a response! πŸ™‚

  1. Thanks for answering my question! Soup Sunday looked awesome!

I get the kid question all the time too….

  2. What a fun date! It’s awesome that y’all were able to get some good food, have a good time and support your favorite charity. Sounds like a good Sunday!

  3. that sounds like such a fun date! there are never things like that in my area :/

i’ve always wanted to try nunaturals!

  4. Thanks for answering my question! I love eggs too and green monsters! Cereal sometimes scrapes my mouth though! BUT I love it anyways! lol.

I don’t even remember asking about kids! lol, but I was curious. I definitly think its fun to stay just with you and your husband ( for anyone) for at LEAST a few 2, 3, 5 years alone. I mean…you’ll never truly get those years back… ya know?

And thanks for asking the one about music. Yeah, I listen to ‘everything’ as welll but DEFINITLY a “no-go” on the screamooo. But another question or you can just email me or I’ll just ask you next time we talk but… I find it such a temptation for stations like Kube 93.3 ( rap and hip-hop)…like drake, kesha, jason derulo, trey songz, etc. etc. Like do you not enjoy that music or do you simply ban it because you it is not Godly? For me its like I know I should not listen to it but I LOVE it. It’s really hard ya know? Like I feel happy and dance and have so much fun when i listen to it…

Its so extremeely hard. Especially being young like thats what all me and my friends listen to when we are in the car and its the music I love. ya know? Like I don’t cuss or anything I don’t feel like its much of a tempation for me , but yeah, just let me know.

( ya know, ya know, ya know, ya know…hahahahahah)

I feel like I need to rid that and I’m trying but easiar said then done! I’d appreciate an email or we can totally just talk about it tommorow!

Love ya girl! Have a beauuuutiful day!!

  8. I have to say soup isn’t my fave dish but maybe all the varieties would have won me over!! Country music has also seeped into my collection despite it’s lack of popularity here, I like the fact they are like stories set to music. Looking forward to the fashion post! πŸ™‚

  17. I love soup! We had Soup and Salad potluck at church this weekend and I found myself wishing that we had smaller bowls so I could try more. Or a bowl sectioned off into quarters so that you could try 4 soups in one bowl. πŸ™‚

  20. In regards to the music part, you don’t sound old at all… you sound mature! It’s never an embarrassment to dislike cursing in songs and songs full of hatred and/or anger… you should be proud that you don’t put up with that junk! xx

  41. I love soup and I love samples! Sounds like a perfect date to me! Were they prepared by chefs from different restaurants?

I definitely think you should write a cookbook! Or, maybe a bunch of bloggers should collaborate and write one together…I’ve often thought it would be fun for everyone to submit a favorite recipe, and then compile them together to be published!

  42. Those soups look so good and that sounds like a really fun afternoon!

  43. I love soup and also like to hear the lyrics to songs but I have been told that I’m 27 going on 50! πŸ˜‰
