Announcing the new job! :)

So I told you I had quit my job, but then completely failed to tell you what I am up to now! Mostly because the day after I posted about quitting the job, I got the family emergency call and then it was our anniversary and then I had my wisdom teeth out and then we were in Illinois… haha! And here I am, halfway through my first week of the new job and I just realized you guys don’t even know what I do!

Friends, I am back to nannying. For those of you who haven’t been long time readers, I began nannying straight out of grad school. I worked with the same little girl from the age of 3 months to 2 years. I switched jobs to the desk job because Christopher and I really wanted to pay off a huge chunk of our student debt. Well, dear friends…

We have paid off 70% of our student debt!! Yes, please, cheer all you want. We are pretty stoked! As great as my desk job was about pay and flexibility… I just really missed caring for kids. So now that we have so much debt paid off, we decided that it would be a good time for me to go back to doing something that I love and am passionate about. And of course, this job gives me the freedom to continue working with my teen girls which as you guys know is so important to me.

PLUS! Like every job I’ve ever had… this one just fell in my lap and at just the right time. I was actually hired back in January and have been anxiously awaiting my start date this week! This summer it was so hard to sit inside at that desk knowing that in just a few short months I would finally be doing something I loved again. And now the time is finally here!

So, the kiddos…

Will is 3.5 and just had his very first day of school on Tuesday. He did great! Tackled me to the floor with a hug goodbye then took off to play!

Mallory is 9 weeks old (well, she was when I started, she will be 10 weeks at the end of this week) and completely precious. Check out all that hair!

Anyway, I am beyond excited to be doing something I love again! You will definitely hear plenty about these two kiddos. 🙂
