Delicious Dinner and Late Night Conversations

Last night at James and Heather’s house we had steaks, beer bread, salad, and great conversation.

DSC_0688Did I mention that he calls these “butter steaks”? And they are wrapped in bacon. Um, yes. Delightfully delightful!

We stayed outside and chatted until well after the sun went down after which we sent the boys for frozen yogurt and then talked a little more inside. πŸ˜‰ One thing I really love about our late night talks with James and Heather is how we can go from talking about silly things one minute to really serious the next. We spent a good portion of last night talking about fighting for marriages instead of just giving up. The divorce rate in this country is astronomical and seems to touch every socio-economic class and adult age group. I am so thankful for friends like James and Heather who encourage us in our marriage and who we can encourage in return. πŸ™‚

  1. These sound like great friends… and it sounds like a great evening. (Oh, and steak wrapped in bacon? That sounds like Nate’s type of meal!!!).

  2. It is great to have friends who encourage us to be more like Christ and to fight for marriage!

  3. Sounds like an amazing night and you’re lucky to have really great ‘couple friends’…my husband and I don’t really have any couple friends near by.

    • I know how hard that can be. Our previous group of friends were mostly grad students which meant that there was a lot of turnover as people got jobs in different cities. This group are all friends that we’ve made through our church. I just love them! πŸ™‚
